What is laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal is a popular aesthetic procedure that removes hair on the face and body using the Soprano ICE™ system.

At Devine Aesthetic Solutions, the laser hair removal process takes place in a private treatment room. Our aesthetics team will clean the area designated for hair removal treatment.

During the laser hair removal process, you may feel minor discomfort. A handheld laser with the sapphire tip of the Soprano ICE system is effectively used to remove the unwanted hair follicle, and after the procedure, you can return home. The hair removal system works well on various hair types and skin tones using laser wavelengths combined with an innovative cooling system.

Post care following laser hair removal

Following laser hair removal, you’ll want to carry out the following post-care:

  • Apply a cold compress directly onto the area that underwent hair removal. It is normal for redness or bumps to develop in the treated region. The appearance of the irritated area is often compared to that of a sunburn and may last for a few hours to a few days.

  • Cleanse the area using mild soap and pat dry during the first 48 hours.

  • Do not use makeup, moisturizers, deodorant, or lotions for the first 24 hours following laser hair removal or until the skin irritation disappears.

  • In 5 – 30 days following laser hair removal, you will notice that stubble and dull hair start to fall away from the skin’s surface.

  • Gentle exfoliation can effectively help remove the dead, shedding hair.

  • Avoid sunlight following hair removal, or the treated skin could start to show darker or lighter spots for up to two months. Always use sunscreen with an SPF of 25 or higher for 1 – 2 months.

  • Do not pick, wax, scratch, tweeze or thread the treated area, or it could irritate the skin further and hinder your hair loss efforts.

Most individuals will experience hair loss after 6 – 9 hair loss treatment sessions.

Who is the best candidate for laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal is usually effective for most individuals.

The best candidate for laser hair removal should have:

  • Unwanted hair growth on the body or face

  • Dark hair as opposed to light hair

  • In good health
